Therapy for real humans.
Because being human is hard sometimes.
In-person psychotherapy and counselling support in Sydney Inner West and online sessions across Australia.
Welcome.
Devan Lalas is a counsellor and psychotherapist-in-training who believes that meaningful change begins with feeling genuinely seen, heard, and understood. He works alongside people navigating grief, anxiety, life transitions, identity questions, and the quiet overwhelm that can build when life no longer feels steady or clear. Devan brings a grounded, compassionate presence to therapy, offering a space where you don’t need to perform, explain everything perfectly, or have it all figured out.
His approach is warm, relational, and non-judgmental, shaped by a background in education, wellbeing, and leadership, and a deep respect for the complexity of human experience. Together, Devan supports clients to slow down, make sense of what they’re carrying, and build emotional resilience, insight, and self-compassion so life can feel more aligned and manageable.
Devan is a registered student member of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA) and the Australian Counselling Association (ACA), currently completing a Master of Psychotherapy and Counselling at Western Sydney University. He also holds a Master of Education in Higher Education Student Affairs and a Bachelor of Science in Sociology, with additional studies in Management and Leadership.
PACFA Membership No. 24456 • ACA Membership No. S84331
Devan offers both Zoom and in-person sessions in Alexandria, NSW. (Inner West Sydney)
What I offer.

Individual Psychotherapy
Find steadiness and strength in everyday life.
Life can feel overwhelming sometimes. Whether you're facing anxiety, sadness, burnout, or big life changes, individual coaching offers a supportive space to reconnect with yourself, find clarity, and build resilience. -

Person Centered Approach
Come home to yourself with compassion and clarity.
In a world that can pull you in every direction, it’s easy to lose touch with your own needs, feelings, and inner wisdom. A Person-centered approach offers a warm, non-judgmental space where you are deeply heard, understood, and supported. Together, we slow down, explore what matters most to you, so you can move through life with greater confidence, steadiness, and self-trust. -

Relational and Attachment-Focused Support
Build deeper, healthier connections.
Our early experiences shape how we relate to others. Coaching can help you explore patterns, set healthier boundaries, and create more fulfilling, connected relationships — including the one with yourself. -

Trauma-Informed Approach
Healing happens at your pace.
Trauma can leave lasting imprints, but it doesn’t define you. In a safe, compassionate environment, we’ll work together to understand and gently heal the impact of past experiences. -

LGBTQIA+ Affirming Support
A space where you can be your full self.
Your identity deserves to be celebrated, not questioned. I offer a warm, affirming space for exploring gender, sexuality, relationships, and personal growth, without fear of judgment or misunderstanding.

Frequently Asked Questions
-
My standard fee is $90 per 50-minute session. I offer a limited number of concession rates for students or those experiencing financial strain. If cost is a concern, we can discuss options together.
-
Your first session is a gentle starting point. We’ll slow down, get to know what’s bringing you here, and explore what support might feel most helpful. There’s no pressure to share everything at once. You set the pace, and we follow what feels safe and right for you.
-
I work from a person-centered and experiential foundation, which means coaching is guided by you. My role is to offer warmth, attunement, curiosity, and a non-judgmental space where your own insight and direction can emerge. I draw on evidence-based tools when helpful, but our work always begins with who you are and what you need in the moment.
-
Not at all. Some people come with a specific concern, while others simply feel overwhelmed, stuck, or unsure where to begin. Together, we can uncover what you’re needing, explore themes that arise, and help you move toward clarity and steadiness.
-
I work with adults seeking support with anxiety, stress, low mood, burnout, relationship concerns, identity exploration (including LGBTQ+ support), life transitions, emotional regulation, self-esteem, grief, and general wellbeing. If something in your life feels heavy, confusing, or important, we can explore it together.
-
Sessions are 50 minutes. Many people start weekly or fortnightly, but frequency is flexible and based on your needs, capacity, and goals. We can revisit and adjust this anytime.
-
Yes. I offer both in-person sessions in Sydney and online sessions Australia-wide. Some clients choose a mix depending on their schedule and comfort.

Your privacy matters deeply. What you share in session remains confidential, except in specific legal or safety-related situations where I am required to act. We will go over all confidentiality guidelines clearly in your first session so you know exactly how it works.

As a counsellor-in-training, I currently operate as a private practitioner. Medicare rebates are not available, but some private health funds may offer partial reimbursement depending on your provider and policy. NDIS self-managed clients are welcome.

Life happens. If you need to cancel or adjust your appointment, please give at least 24 hours' notice to avoid the session fee. This helps keep session times available for others seeking support.
