Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy

Life doesn’t always unfold in neat or predictable ways. At times, you may find yourself feeling overwhelmed, disconnected, burnt out, or unsure of how to move forward.

Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy offers a supportive, reflective space to pause, take stock, and reconnect with yourself.

A Person-Centered Approach

At the heart of my practice is a person-centered approach. This means that therapy is guided by you: your experiences, values, goals, and pace. In a world that often asks us to keep pushing, performing, or explaining ourselves, it can be deeply grounding to have a space where you are simply listened to and understood.

A person-centered approach offers a warm, non-judgmental environment where your thoughts and feelings are met with respect and curiosity. Rather than being told what to do or how to feel, we work together to explore what matters most to you and what feels authentic and sustainable in your life.

Over time, this process can support greater self-trust, clarity, and confidence, helping you feel more at home in yourself and more able to navigate life’s challenges with steadiness and compassion.

Relational and Attachment-Focused

Our relationships, past and present, play a powerful role in shaping how we experience the world. Early attachment experiences can influence how we connect with others, how safe we feel in relationships, and how we respond to closeness, conflict, or separation.

Relational and attachment-focused work invites us to explore these patterns with care and curiosity. In coaching, we may look at recurring relationship dynamics, boundaries, emotional responses, and the ways you relate to yourself as well as to others.

This approach supports the development of healthier, more secure connections, greater emotional awareness, and a deeper understanding of your relational needs. Many clients find that this work not only improves their relationships with others, but also strengthens their sense of self and self-compassion.

Trauma-Informed Approach

Trauma can leave lasting impressions on the nervous system, emotions, and sense of safety, even long after the original experiences have passed. A trauma-informed approach recognises this and prioritises safety, choice, and collaboration at every stage of the work.

Healing does not happen by force or on a fixed timeline. Instead, it unfolds gradually, at a pace that feels manageable and respectful of your experiences. In a supportive and compassionate environment, we work together to understand how past experiences may still be impacting you, while building skills for grounding, regulation, and resilience in the present.

This approach honours your strength and adaptability, while acknowledging the real impact of what you have been through. You remain in control of the process, and nothing is rushed or revisited before you feel ready.

LGBTQIA+ Affirming Support

Your identity is an integral part of who you are and deserves to be met with respect, understanding, and affirmation. I offer an LGBTQIA+ affirming space where you can explore gender, sexuality, relationships, and personal growth without fear of judgment, misunderstanding, or the need to educate your therapist.

This work may include exploring identity development, navigating relationships, managing minority stress, processing experiences of discrimination, or simply having a space where your full self is welcomed and valued.

Affirming support means recognising both the challenges and the strengths that come with living as an LGBTQIA+ person, and supporting you in building a life that feels authentic, connected, and aligned with who you are.

In Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy, we focus on what you are experiencing right now, while also gently exploring how past experiences, patterns, and beliefs may be influencing the present. Together, we work to build clarity, emotional steadiness, and practical strategies that support you in navigating everyday life with greater confidence and resilience.

Individual Counselling and Psychotherapy can be helpful if you are experiencing anxiety, low mood, stress, burnout, life transitions, or a general sense of feeling stuck. The work is collaborative and paced to your needs, supporting meaningful change without pressure or judgment.
