Devan Lalas grew up in Charlotte, North Carolina. He received his bachelor's in sociology and his master's in higher education student affairs degrees from Western Carolina University.

He loves being a dog dad to his Italian Greyhound, Potato, and formally, Magee, for whom his debut title, A Pretty Quickie Skinny Iggy! was inspired. He lives In Cranston, Rhode Island.
